The Love of God
John 3:16-21
This passages contains perhaps the best known and most often memorized verse in the Bible. Some have described John 3:16 as the gospel in miniature. Though it can easily stand on its own, we will see that the context adds greater clarity and further insights into God’s amazing grace and sovereign glory.
The Way of God’s Love
Gave His only Son
Not to punish (which justice requires)
But to give eternal life
Through believing/trusting in Jesus
The Call Out of Spiritual Darkness
Darkness brings: not believing in the name of the only Son
Darkness → evil works → condemnation → perish

Light brings: believes/trusts in Jesus, does what is true
Light →does what is true → no condemnation → eternal life
