Zeal
John 2
In July, in the sermon series relating to “water,” we saw Jesus’ first miracle was to turn water into wine. John tells us that through this, Jesus manifested his glory and his disciples believed in him. Shortly after, Jesus and his disciples went to Jerusalem for the Passover. Jesus’ zeal was demonstrated for:
Holy Worship (vs. 14-16)
Provide access for all people
Use God-honoring practices
Seek the Father
Sacrificial Service (vs. 17-22)
Walk the way of the cross
Rely on resurrection power
Uphold Scripture
Authentic Faith (vs. 23-25)
Trust in Jesus, not merely signs
Know that Jesus discerns our faith
Find hope in Jesus identifying with our humanity
