Romans 1:16-25
Romans is the Apostle Paul’s most systematic letter, covering the main themes of theology he thought necessary to pass on. Paul describes turning away from God in several ways, perhaps the most surprising is it being a lack of thankfulness to God.
Restorative Grace through the Gospel of Christ (vs. 16-17)
The gospel (good news of Christ) is to be honored
The gospel is the power of God for salvation
It is effective for those who believe/have faith
In it we find God can be both righteous and gracious
Revealed Wrath for Rejecting Truth (vs. 18-25)
Consequence to ungodliness and unrighteousness
No excuse for not knowing, honoring and thanking God
Truth is suppressed and futile thinking leads to idolatry
God gives us up to pursue freely our own desires
Right Responses to the Sovereign God (vs. 16-17, 21, 25)
Faith in Christ and His righteousness given to us
Honor God for who He is
Thank God for all that He does
Worship is the ultimate expression of our heart
