Put on the Whole Armor of God
Ephesians 6:10-20 (focus on vs 10-13)
This passage teaches us something that is foreign to our modern scientific worldview. There is more to the world around us than we can perceive with our five senses. We learn that we need to be equipped so that we can effectively engage the spiritual forces of evil.
Armor Is Needed to Be Strong in the Lord
“Be Strong – passive verb tense – work of God
God’s gracious gifts are sufficient
All – not part
Purpose Is to Stand Against the Schemes of the Devil
Spiritual world and battle are real
Knowing our enemy is important
Christ won the victory so that the battles may be won
Our Battle Orders Are to Stand Firm
Not standing still, but with resolve
Be prepared for temptation and attacks
We are to move forward and gain new ground
